Items are tools used to assist the player in Subterranauts. Most items will take an inventory slot where scrap can be held, but some items are special equipment with their own dedicated equipment slot. All inventory items and equipment will be given the "Item" tag with the scanner, differentiating it from scrap, which gets the "Resource" tag.
Notes[]
Items are activated with the "Use" key bind, which is left mouse button by default (i.e. radio, flare gun); or they are activated with the "Use Alternate" key bind, which is right mouse button by default (i.e flashlights). Equipment is used with "Use Equipment" key bind, which is middle mouse button by default (i.e. the scanner).
Items are dropped with the "Drop Item" key bind (Q by default) like dropping scrap. Equipment gets its own inventory slot with a special icon depending on the item type, and it is dropped with the "Drop Equipment" key bind (C by default).
